The first of rounded rectangular plan with applied himotōshi, decorated in gold, aokin, and silver hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with extensive use of gold okibirame, applied on one side with a mixed metal detail in high relief of two samurai, one resting on the other's back and about to tie his adversary with a rope, against a background of a waterfall and trees, the reverse with a palace building, the interiors and risers gold nashiji, the shoulders and rims gold fundame, signed on the base with gold hiramaki-e characters Kōfū saku and with an inlaid plaque with signature Nagatsune and a kaō, with a stone ojime and a gold-lacquer manjū netsuke decorated in high-relief colored lacquer with a mounted samurai; the second of slender lenticular plan with integral himotōshi, the top and sides finished in rich Gyōbu nashiji, each side with a ogival panel edged in silver, decorated in gold takamaki-e on a kinji ground, one side with a nobleman returning a gold kemari ("kickball") to a companion who has climbed the palace wall, the figures inlaid in mixed metals, the other side with palace buildings, a pine, willow, and hills with embellishments of gold okibirame, the interiors and risers gold nashiji, the shoulders and rims gold fundame; with a black-and-gold lacquer ojime and a silk cord
