Two Royal Worcester figures from the series of 'Indian Craftsmen' originally modelled by James Hadley , both modelled seated in turbans and tradtional dress, one of Haji Mijak , the coppersmith, depicted beating out a bowl, the other of Karan Singh , the trinket maker, using a hammer and anvil to fashion his metalwork, both with the tools of their trade around them, enriched in a limited palette and gilt on a blush-ivory-ground, impressed and printed marks and numerals 1207 and 1204 , date codes for 1896 -- 5 1/8in.
