.71 caliber, 42" barrel, NSN. Browned finish with original flint converted to Maynard system, which was subsequently converted to percussion only with replacement hammer. Side plate marked with numeral "1", with stsock rear of sideplate marked with letter "C". Right side of hand-carved with initials "R.B.". No visible proofs or markings on barrel or lockplate. Condition: fair. Overall smooth dark brown coloration with dents and marks on stock throughout. Action functions normally. Bore poor; pitting and cratering with some corrosion. Could use cleaning.
