Stock with two legible cartouches on the reverse, including a JWK in a banner and an ESA in an oval. Weak inspection behind triggerguard. Long range rear sight, front sight/bayonet lug, correct single-stop cleaning rod. Includes appropriate socket bayonet. Only 1,011 of these rifles were produced for field trials, making this a hard rifle to find in solid and complete condition. Condition: Very good. Metal a medium pewter gray with scattered minor surface discoloration and oxidation. Mechanically functional, good bore. Stock with scattered dings and handling marks. A solid example of a scarce US martial trials rifle from the Indian War period.
