Signature: signed "Bond Walker" lower right Medium: oil on canvas Dimensions: 41 by 51cm., 16 by 20in. Born in Belfast, the son of painter Thomas Bond Walker (1861-1933), he studied both with his father and Hans Iten (1874-1930). He was amongst the original ten members of the Belfast Art Society, elect... ted in 1920,and in the following year began exhibiting at the RHA in Dublin. During the 1920s and '30s he worked mostly at portrait painting. However, during the Second World War he moved to Newcastle, Co. Down and shifted his energies towards landscape painting, teaching, and running a gallery (see Snoddy, pp 684-5) more
