Matted. original drawing of the capitol building in williamsburg as it looked in the early 18th century. In the foreground a gentleman speaks to a lady, while his horse is tied to a hitching post and his dog waits patiently. On right side a carriage-and-four enter the scene. The Capitol Building dominates the background. The Georgian-style building was built in 1934, recreating the original of 1705 which was destroyed by fire in the mid-18th century. In 1942, the present drawing was used by Americana Prints, Inc. as the basis for a print, identifying Arnt as the artist.
