A fine financial association between Wall Street and Roosevelt, who at the time of this publication was appointed to the United States Civil Service Commission and was later New York City Police Commissioner. This History of Wall Street comes just before the 1890 Sherman Anti-Trust Act, which Roosevelt would uphold once President - and it was Roosevelt who coined the phrase "muckraker" for a politician willing to take on big business.
