Document signed ("Go: Washington"), partly printed and accomplished in manuscript, countersigned by Secretary of State Timothy Pickering, Philadelphia, February 16, 1797, 1 page, folio, on vellum, normal scalloping at the top, toned, and Washington's signature is light in part, white wafer and wax seal, matted and framed with a portrait to 27 x 29 in. A ship's passport for the "Matira", commanded by John Seaward, of 35 tons, eleven men and no guns.
