(2 7/8 x 4 3/16 in.), printed on thick card, unaccomplished . A PRINTED DINNER INVITATION FROM PRESIDENT AND MRS. WASHINGTON. rare piece of ephemera from the administration of the first President. From April 1789 to August 1790 the President and First Lady resided on Cherry Street in New York; when the seat of government was moved to Philadelphia, they lived in the mansion formerly occupied by Robert Morris The Washingtons entertained with some frequency and printed invitations were prepared to be sent to invited guests. The present unaccomplished example is in fine condition.
