Whitman, Camden, 13 June 1887. 1 p., oblong, addressed by Whitman, some loss at left margin affecting the first letter in eight lines, neat repair to tear . The poet declares that he is "getting along comfortably--Shall soon send dear J a new piece of mine in a magazine--There is a Boston scheme afoot to get me a little house in the country or sea shore." Whitman refers to the subscription fund that raised $800 for the purchase of a new home; Whitman ultimately used the money for other, undisclosed purposes. -- WHITMAN, Walt.
