LIMITED EDITION, number 30 of 32 sets on Whatman paper of the Author's Manuscript edition, signed by the publishers and WITH AN ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPT LEAF BY WHITMAN and certificate of authenticity signed by Jeannette Gilder bound in. The leaf consists of three slips pasted to an octavo sheet and reveals Whitman celebrating the spirit of the French Revolution: "... the great French Revolution -- the long precedent crushing of the masses of a heroic people into the earth, in abject poverty, hunger -- every right denied humanity..."
