The Treaty of Greenville was signed August 3, 1795 between the US and native peoples of the Northwest Territory, a year after the defeat of the tribes at the Battle of Fallen Timbers, limiting their lands and beginning the practice of annual payments (usually in food and goods) to the signatories.
