With embossed Azagury text on the front, plastic wallet pages attached inside. Leather pocket inside the back of portfolio. Each has a width of 31cm, height 37cm. Estimated in-house shipping to a UK mainland address is available from £35.50 Provenance: From the Knightsbridge atelier of Jacques Azagury. Moroccan-born designer Jacques Azagury studied at the London College of Fashion and St Martin's School of Art. He opened his flagship store in Knightsbridge in 1987 with his business partner and sister Solange, and from the 80s onwards his dresses were regularly featured in Vogue and appeared in collections carried by Harrods, Browns, Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman. Throughout his career he dressed some of the worlds most glamorous women notably actresses and celebrities such as Helen Mirren, Helen McRory, Elizabeth McGovern and Darcy Bussell but he describes his ten-year relationship dressing Diana, the late Princess of Wales, as the highlight of his career. In preparation for his retirement in September this year, Jacques approached Lay's Auctions to handle the sale of his archive of dresses designed for the Princess, plus other celebrity dresses and some of the fixtures from his boutique. In November we were thrilled to be able to help Jacques negotiate a six figure sum for his collection of Diana's dresses to an American museum and in this sale we are selling clothing worn by Helen Mirren & Kelly Brook, plus furnishings from his Knightsbridge atelier. Next year we will also be selling some charming items of personal correspondence from Princess Diana to Jacques.
