A penciled inscription on the verso identifies it as a photograph taken of the 1894 city waterworks project in Burlington, VT. This information cannot be confirmed. Measures 9.5 x 7.5 in., 10 x 8 in. with the mount. A group of workers standing on top of a large pile of slate. Identified on the back in modern penciled inscription as slateworkers at the F.C. Sheldon Slate Co. Quarry- Granville, NY (most likely). This cannot be confirmed. Measures 7.25 x 5 in., 8 x 5.75 in. with its mount. A large gathering of townspeople smiling and posing for the camera in front of a large building with wood siding, stamped on the recto by the photographer New England View Co. Portland, Maine. Geo.
