A very good copy of 'the best "working" book of [bird] illustrations: the artists having avoided the too common fault of over-colouring the birds figured' (Mullens & Swann); the colourists were the daughters of R. Bowdler Sharpe, with whom Wyatt produced A Monograph of the Hirundinidae (1899). The second volume also depicts resident and migrant Picariae, Striges, Accipitres and Columbae.
