Y AN ITALIAN WALNUT AND TULIPWOOD BANDED COMMODE LATE 18TH CENTURY The rectangular quarter veneered and crossbanded top above three long drawers on square tapering supports 83cm high, 115cm wide, 54cm deep Provenance: Supplied by Oliver Messel Gloucestershire Flaxley Abbey, Gloucestershire Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use Old splits and cracks, some chips and losses, some repairs to some veneers and mouldings in areas such as around the drawer fronts The interiors of the drawers have been paper lined There are no handles by design, the drawers would need to be pulled by a key, there is no key present, the drawers are all unlocked at time of report, the locks appear to be original. Some signs of old woodworm, with filled holes present to some areas, there are three plugs to the front side near the drawers The handles are replacements throughout, there are old holes where the previous handles have been visible to the interior of the drawer front Overall solid and stable Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
