After Okatomo, signed Okatomo Japan, early 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868) Carved as an emaciated wolf with neatly incised and inked fur, large pricked ears, and eyes inlaid in dark horn, eating a haunch of venison in front of it, some sinew from the carcass in its mouth, the underside with the signature OKATOMO within a rectangular reserve. LENGTH 5 cm Condition: Very good condition with minor surface wear and few natural age cracks. Provenance: British private estate.
