First edition of this 11th-Century treatise on horoscopes, translated from a Spanish version made from the original Arabic by Judah ben Moses in 1256, a fine Venetian incunable with a wealth of decorative initials, some waterstaining to margins, very little worming, several ll. reinforced in gutter, the 4 ll. of the first gathering bound in a few millimeters higher than the rest, first l. with small corner repair and old owner's entry, l. 33 with repaired tear, otherwise a fine and complete copy, heavily annotated by a contemporary hand, bound in contemporary boards with blind-tooled calf spine and one clasp, spine renewed using original material, clasp renewed (original catch preserved), endpapers also renewed. - From J.
