Made in Vienna from the nineteen-twenties by the Engler, Wolmersdorfer Company, the Delta Gnom was one of a number of smaller machines competing for the market, ceasing production in the ‘thirties. Post-war, the firm resumed two-wheeler manufacturing, in competition with Puch and others, for the Austrian market. Well-built, reliable but always-sold in small numbers, the Delta Gnom survived until 1955, making survivors rather rare. This example, powered by a Sachs unit and with full rear chain enclosure, was bought by the museum as far back as 1969 and has 23,000 km. recorded. Reported to have been thoroughly rebuilt by HP Moto Znojmo in 1999, it should be ready for use following the usual safety checks.
