A finely detailed exhibition standard 5in gauge model of the Great Western Railway Armstrong 4-4-0 locomotive and tender No 16 'Brunel' built by J F Bowman -- 14 x 61½in (35.5 x 156cm) With braised superheated copper boiler with fittings including water gauge with shut-off cocks, pressure gauge, safety, blower, injector, steam brake, whistle and clack valves' and washout plug. Chassis details include twin inside cylinders with Stephenson's link reverse, foot plate controlled drain cock, axle driven feed pump and by-pass, injector, whistle, working leaf and coil springs, steam operated brake gear, injector and whistle. Further details include dummy sanding boxes and pipes, running board jack, lubricator boxes and pipes, opening spectacle plate windows, chequer plate foot and fall plates, steps, hand and lamp irons and lamps. Tender details include hand feed pump, hand operated brake gear, working leaf springs, water cocks, tool boxes, rivetting, steps, hand and lamp irons and lamp. Finished in GWR livery and lining of the period. Boiler cerificate valid to 12.1.1993 Originally designed circa 1902 by W Dean this locomotive was extensively rebuilt between 1905 and 1911, was renumbered 4169 in 1923 and absorbed in the Flower class.
