A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED JAPANESE LACQUER AND AMARANTH BUREAU PLAT LATE 18TH CENTURY, ORIGINALLY A BUREAU A CYLINDRE AND THE LACQUER PANELS LATER EMBELLISHMENTS The rectangular top with inset red leather top and molded edge, above a leather-lined writing-slide to each side, and with three panelled frieze-drawers, the right drawer being double, and a kneehole flanked by a further drawer to the left and a simulated drawer to the right, decorated with panels of birds in landscapes, the angles with panels of husk-trails and on panelled square tapering legs with husk-trails and terminating in sabots, the underside to center with paper label inscribed 'Huntington', escutcheons later, the inside of the legs previously with further mounts, sabots probably later, the deep drawer previously fitted with a coffre fort 31½ in. (80 cm.) high, 64 in. (163 cm.) wide, 32½ in. (82 cm.) deep
