Colt Model 1861 Special Musket made by Colt Firearms in Hartford, Connecticut in 1863. "In-the-white" rifled barrel with blade front sight and blued rear flip sight with barrel dated 1863 marked "VP" and with "Eagle Head" Proofs. Percussion lock "In-the-white" finished with date of 1863 and "U.S. Colt's PtFa MFG Co. Hartford, Ct.". Bolster is marked with a Federal Eagle. Walnut wood stock with illegible cartouches behind lock bolts with iron furniture. Comes with original steel ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with most metal parts having been polished. Stock has traces of original finish with light handling marks and dings. Good bore and mechanics.
