Flat lockplate with double line border; screw in front; marked on tang with crown over V-R cypher and in center 1859/Tower along with small ordnance mark; rounded hammer. Brass furniture; one piece nose cap/ramrod thimble, triggerguard with strap extending to buttcap, buttcap with 4 1/2 inch backstrap, and small escutcheon around single lock screw. Walnut stock marked on right side of grip with broad arrow over WD and a 1/4 inch number 1 along with three crown over B/12 stamps and one crown over B/5; left side, opposite lock, stamped Moxham; steel swivel ramrod. Walnut buttstock with brass buttplate and steel sling swivel. Blued steel fitting with ordnance mark and double line border. Stock also stamped Moxham, broad arrow over WD, and with the numeral one, all corresponding to the pistol. Condition: Excellent. Barrel with dark patina and some heavy pitting around breech and bolster, especially on right side; markings crisp. Lock with dark patina and crisp markings, bolster with deep pitting. Brass mounts with nice unpolished patina, some light marks from use. Stock excellent with clear markings; some minor storage marks. Shoulder stock excellent. See Illustration
