The advantages and disadvantages attending the use of these commodities, are not only impartially considered, upon the principles of medicine and chymistry, but also ascertained by observation and experience. II. Full and distinct directions laid down for knowing in what cases, and for what particular constitutions, these substances are either beneficial, or hurtful. III. The Chinese or Asiatic Tea, shewn to be the same with the European chamelăgnus, or Myrtus Brabantica, translated by Dr. Robert James half-title, 2 folding engraved plates, 1p. advertisements at end, plate 2 outer margin frayed, lightly browned, a few small light water-stains, modern calf, spine gilt, [Cagle 918; Maclean p.111-112], 8vo, Printed for T. Osborne, in Gray’s Inn; J. Hildyard, at York; M. Bryson, at New-castle; and J. Leake, at Bath, 1746. *** The translator Dr. James was a friend of Dr. Samuel Johnson and physician to King George III.: The Dege copy (Sotheby's, 9th June, 2005, lot 409).
