Attached to the back of the card is a 4-page advertising flyer "The Palace Hotel, San Francisco. By Prof. Knowles." Rare photographic advertisement for the just-completed Palace Hotel, a landmark when built and to this day, though rebuilt of necessity following the 1906 earthquake and fire. Next to the hotel was the "New Building designed for Bradley & Rulofson's Art Gallery," so dual purpose was served as a marketing piece. No examples of the photograph or the printed flyer, either separately or together, are listed in OCLC.
