Beschreibung:

Sidecar motocross became increasingly popular through the late 1960s, with the ready availability of 650cc [Triumph] and 750cc [Norton] motors, fitted into specially strengthened chassis; an arena in which Wasp Motorcycles - who still produce quality frames at their base near Salisbury - were for many years the acknowledged market leader, with a vigorous customer base in Holland & Switzerland. Competitors, inevitably, agitated for ever-greater capacities, prompting the Triumph and Norton motors, 1973 onwards, to be replaced by Yamaha's 5-speed bullet proof XS-2, a motor that would safely accept a major increase in its displacement. Through the mid-1970s in fact the FIM Championship-winning big-bore Wasp-Yamaha was the definitive combination for this most rugged form of off-road sport. Purchased in 1983, and offered without documentation.
