Lot of 10, including five cabinet cards, four CDVs, and one tintype, all by Goodridge Brothers, with Saginaw or East Saginaw imprints or labels. The older brother, Glenalvon J. Goodridge, learned the daguerreotype process in 1846 and worked as an itinerant photographer in the Baltimore-Philadelphia-Wilmington area before opening a studio in his hometown of York, PA, in mid-1847. Glenalvon partnered with his younger brother Wallace in 1860 and the pair moved their operation to Saginaw, Michigan, around 1863. Their business was frequented and respected by both the black and white populations of Saginaw, and thrived until Wallace's death in 1922. Provenance: Dr. John W.
