The plate "La Patente du Roi de Perse," which the plate list calls for at page 270, is bound with the folding map at p.1. A clean copy, complete with all plates; Together with GRELOT, GUILLAUME JOSEPH. Relation nouvelle d'un voyage de Constantinople. Paris: Pierre Rocolet, 1681. Second edition. 19th century vellum with the arms of William Sterling Maxwell in black, all edges red. 6 x 3 1/2 inches (15 x 9 cm); [xii], 371, [1] pp, with 12 folding plates, lacking the large folding plate of Constantinople. Generally a clean copy, though lacking the view of Constantinople and possibly one other plate. With the bookplate of William Stirling Maxwell; And an incomplete set, lacking parts 5 and 9, of the 1711 edition of Chardin's works. C
