Beschreibung:

James Irwin A pair of views showing David Scott driving the Lunar Rover and adjusting the TV antenna on the Rover to point towards Earth (at station 6), EVA 2 1 August 1971 Two vintage gelatin silver prints on fibre-based paper, each 25.4 x 20.3 cm (10 x 8 in), BLACK NUMBERED NASA AS15-85-11471 and AS15-85-11493 in top margins (NASA Manned Spacecraft Center) Footnotes: The electric car, seen at the beginning of the second EVA before the drive to station 6 (first photograph) enabled Scott and Irwin to cover a greater distance and collect a greater variety of geological samples than accomplished on the three previous lunar landings combined. Station 6 was located on the North facing slope of Mount Hadley Delta, about 100 m high above the Valley of Hadley-Apennine and 5 km away from the LM. The Rover is parked on a steep slope, making it difficult for Scott to aim the high-gain antenna towards Earth so that Mission Control can receive the TV transmission (second photograph).
