EUSEBIUS CAESARIENSIS. Historia ecclesiastica, translated by Rufinus, Mantua: Johannes Schallus, [not before 15] July 1479. 2° (273 x 192mm). 172 leaves including the final blank, 34 lines, roman letter, initials supplied in red or blue. (First and last leaves of last quire becoming loose, slight worming throughout, mostly in the margins but affecting text at beginning and end). 17th-century Italian vellum (2 tears in spine, slightly discoloured and wormed). Provenance : G. J. Arvanitidi, the celebrated collector of Greek books (red leather book-label). Issue with reading 'Frederico' on f.1v. One of only a handful of books printed by Schall at Mantua between 1475 and 1479. HC 6711; GKW 9437; BMC VII, 933; Goff E-127.
