At the end of the exhibition he was allowed to keep five chairs including the three that we present in this sale. Copies of this model are now kept in museums, such as the Centraal Museum in Utrecht and the prototype in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam__________________________________________________________________________
La chaise Mondial a été conçue par Gerrit Rietveld et son fils Wim Rietveld en collaboration avec la firme Gispen pour le pavillon néerlandais de l'Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Bruxelles en 1958. Nos chaises proviennent de l’ancienne collection d’un employé du département design de la Royal Glasfabriek Leerdam qui avait travaillé sur le stand au sein du pavillon néerlandais de l’Expo 58. À la fin de l’exposition il avait été autorisé à conserver cinq chaises dont les trois que nous présentons dans cette vente. Plusieurs exemplaires de la chaise Mondial sont aujourd’hui conservés dans des musées. On compte notamment un exemplaire au Centraal Museum à Utrecht et le prototype au Rijksmuseum à Amsterdam
