Comoediae. Cambridge: 1701; CATULLUS, TIBULLUS and PROPERTIUS. Opera. Cambridge: 1702. 4 works in 4 volumes, 4 (290 x 217mm). All ruled in red throughout. Engraved frontispieces, head and tailpieces. (Occasional browning, lower blank margin of frontispiece of the second work replaced at the time of binding.) Uniform contemporary red morocco panelled in gilt, spines in seven compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second, the others with repeat decoration built up from small tools, gilt turn-ins, g.e. Contemporary diced russia gilt, upper cover and spine with arms of Sussex College Cambridge in gilt (upper joint split). Provenance : Sussex College, Cambridge (binding). (Plates facing pp.1, 357 and 494 cut down and mounted.) Late 18th-century red straight-grained morocco gilt, covers with double fillet border, the spine in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second the others with repeat pattern made up of small floral tools, turn-ins with gilt pentaglyph and metope roll border, g.e. Contemporary red straight-grained morocco, decorative border in gilt and blind, spine in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in two, the others with repeat geometric pattern made up from various small tools, gilt turn-ins, g.e. (light scuffing to joints, corners slightly bumped).
