The metal presents with tiny dents, surface scratches and light oxidation stains mainly visible on the inside. The enamel presents with light surface scratches mostly located on the black area ; a more visible scratch on the blue area. A few vert-de-gris marks along the recessed areas and inside the box. A loss of enamel on the back of approximately 0.5 x 0.5 cm and another one inside the cover, along a corner. Provenance Jean Dunand Collection, Paris ... This is reflected in the geometric clarity of his subtle coloured compositions. Jean Goulden's works are as wonderful as they are rare. Less than one hundred boxes were made by the artist between 1923 and 1933. All are unique pieces.
