Also included in La Pérouse's narrative is the Spanish navigator Mourelle's description of his voyage to Manilla aboard the Princesa , and a short abstract of George Vancouver's voyage of discovery in the north Pacific where he created remarkably accurate surveys that, for the greater part of the nineteenth century, were the only reliable authority for navigating the remoter parts of British Columbia and Alaska.
