[LECLERC DE HAUTECLOCQUE PHILIPPE]: (1902-1947) Best known as Marshal Leclerc. French General during WWII. In May 1945 he was given command of the French Far East Expeditionary Corps. Leclerc died in an air crash in Algeria in 1947. Unusual signed 7 x 9 photograph, the image showing Marshal Leclerc standing outdoors, in a three quarter length pose, and wearing his military uniform, with military officers and vehicles to the background. Signed by his wife in bold blue fountain pen ink `g. Leclerc de Hauteclocque´ to a largely clear area of the image. Bearing the photographer´s ink stamp to the verso, Le Studio, 5 Rue Pierre Haret, Paris. Small overall age wear and staining with small upper corner creases. G £200-300
