Lithographic portrait frontispiece. (Some spotting, occasional dampstain.) Contemporary Russian half leather (spine caps chipped, front joint starting, extremities rubbed, sides rubbed). Provenance : Count ?Constantin Petrovich Tolstoy (autograph letter signed, dated St. Petersburg 26 March). With a four-page letter from Count Tolstoy praising the work and presenting it to a cousin. This second collected edition is considerably more complete than that published by Glazunov in 1840. It is complete in 3 parts as originally envisaged; a fourth volume was published in 1844. Fekula 4904; Kilgour 623; Muratova 9244; Obol'ianinov 221; Smirnov-Sokol'skii, Moia Biblioteka , 824.
