THE FIRST OFFICIAL COMPILATION OF THE LAWS OF NEW JERSEY, printed at the request of the Assembly for subscribers, in what is likely to have been a small edition. The Act specifically states that "as only a small number is ordered for the use of the said Province, those private gentlemen who are willing to have and subscribe for the same" should contact the booksellers as the Bradfords were "designing to print no more than what are subscribed and agreed for" (quoted in Felcone).
