In each earring, the shepherds hook with eighteen karat yellow gold safety clasp is fronted by a seven millimeter jade roundel which is bordered by black enamel and inset with a diamond in the center. Black enamel oval shaped links with collet set diamonds, interlaced with diamond studded links, lead to a rounded diamond frame with decorative volutes of black onyx buff tops encircling a round, carved foliate jade plaque set in a millegrain edged bezel. The earrings contain 104 rose cut diamonds with an estimated total weight of 0.52 carats, fourteen old European cut diamonds with an estimated total weight of 0.35 carats, and twenty-seven buff top onyx.
