Kerry Oil on canvas, 35.5 x 41cm (14 x 16.2'') Signed Provenance: Probably first acquired from Henry's 1946 London exhibition Thence by descent Exhibited: Dublin, Combridge's Gallery, Recent Paintings by Paul Henry from 24 October 1941, no.3 London, Heal & Son, Tottenham Court Road, Pictures by Paul Henry RHA, from 14 January 1946, no.6 The present work was almost certainly painted in the Spring of 1941 when Henry stayed for a time at Killarney. Numbered 1031 in S.B. Kennedy's forthcoming catalogue of Paul Henry's Paintings, Drawings and Illustrations. We are grateful to Dr. S.B. Kennedy for his assistance in cataloguing this work.
