Published at his own expense after numerous rejections from publishers, sales of Maggie were extremely low; Crane gave away about 100 copies, and many he burned himself. BAL 4068. Octavo. Original wrappers (backstrip renewed, edges of wrappers restored, a little restoration to front cover, repairs along joints).
