[ postmarked 1844], “I rightly approve of the plan of inserting my remarks on Mr Duncan’s picture in the Inverness Courier...” and enclosing letters of commendation of Mr Hill’s pictures, “I think I may undertake that the accompanying letters will be found useful - Mr Bail Fraser is the well known author of the Continental Persian Adventure & himself a distinguished amateur Landscape painter, & a man of much talent, & literary connexion...”; tear along folds ; and a small quantity of other letters some relating to art, prints etc., including a Letter third person from the Chevalier Stuart, “The Chevalier Stuart receives with pleasure the expression of those sentiments with which Mr Hill has accompanied his interesting & valuable presentation...”; letter from George Augustus Sala to Marcus Huish, “I am right glad to have got the Millais notice in so soon”; 2 letters from Sir Francis Seymour Haden and 3 small etched proofs of ships in harbour etc., v.s., v.d.
