Rueff described smooth-edged forceps for delivery of a live baby, preceding Chamberlen, and a toothed forceps for extraction of the dead foetus. He developed a method celphic version combining internal and external manipulation.”-see Garrison-Morton 6141, citing the 1554 first German edition.
