TREATY OF PARIS – The Definitive Treaty of Peace and Friendship between His Britannick Majesty, the Most Christian King, and the King of Spain, Concluded at Paris, the 10th Day of February, 1763. London: by Authority, printed by E. Owen and T. Harrison 1763.
The first edition: giving possession of the whole present-day U.S. territory east of the Mississippi to England. "These final terms, by which France relinquished her North American claims and Spain ceded Florida, gave England undisputed possession of the territory of the present United States from the Mississippi to the Atlantic" (Howes). The signatories were Great Britain, France and Spain. Of the ones vast holdings of New France, France retained only the tiny archipelago of St. Pierre and Miquelon and some fishing rights. Quarto (229 x 172mm). Printed in two columns, parallel French and English. 19th-century half roan, spine gilt-lettered (spine ends chipped, hinges cracked after endpapers).
