8" x 10" prints, one w/ legend in neg., all with manuscript id., verso, of The Other Medicine, Brave Heart [both Crow], and Bobtailed Horse [Cheyenne]; ca 1900s. Richard Throssel (1882-1933) joined the Crow Agency in 1902 as a clerk & became interested in photography. In 1905 he was adopted by the Crow & met Edward Curtis. By 1909 he had been appointed photographer to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs & lobbied for Indian causes. Condition: Very good, corner bends and minor losses not affecting subject.
