Folio, gilt front (spine mostly gone), table of contents indicates that there are 52 gentlemen portrayed in the volume. Many of the illustrations have qualities of caricatures. I suspect the Bishop of Rochester did not find his portrait very flattering, although Sir John Eardley Eardley-Wilmont might not have been too unhappy. Some have very large heads, or are extremely thin or large, likely characteristics recognizable in their day. Condition: Water damage to the central spine area. Some pages have mildew damage in the area that was wet. Most of the images are not affected, but the inner margin is. Spine nearly gone. Boards overall not good. But text is fine and colors are still bright on portraits.
