Pierre-Victor Galland (French, 1822-1892) Female Nude, Seen from the Rear, Hanging Laundry Inscribed faintly "Galland/..." on the reverse, bearing the monogram stamp of the artist l.r. Charcoal on buff paper, 9 3/4 x 5 1/8 in. (24.8 x 13.0 cm),framed. Condition: Small loss to c.r. edge, toning, pale staining, held with photo corners to a backing cardboard. Provenance: A Connecticut estate. N.B. The work bears the monogram stamp from Pierre-Victor Galland (French, 1822-1892) which was applied to his own works prior to the sale following his death. The sale of Galland's estate took place April 19-20, 1894 in Paris (Henri Haro, expert in charge).
