Owen, 114 hand-coloured plates, comprising 64 aquatint views by Bluck, Stadler, Hill and others after Pugin, Mackenzie, Westall and others, 17 hand-coloured stipple and line engraved costume plates and 32 hand-coloured stipple and line engraved portraits of the founders of the various colleges. (Neatly repaired tear to lower margin of title of vol.II, uncoloured portrait and a few text leaves spotted, four plates significantly misbound.) 20th-century light blue half morocco gilt, spines in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second and third, the others with double fillet borders enclosing a large centrally-placed arabesque tool, top edges gilt the others uncut (very slight scuffing and discolouration). A fine large set, uniformly bound with the previous lot (Ackermann's Cambridge ). Abbey plate nos. 50 and 94 in their first state. Abbey Scenery 280; Tooley 5. (2)
