Double-action break-top revolver with automatic ejection and screw-retained front sight blade. Cylinder has been shaved to convert the revolver to .45 ACP using moon clips. Left frame marked WEBLEY/MARK VI/PATENTS/1918 overstamped with N^Z marking indicating New Zealand acceptance and issue. Serial numbers to cylinder, frame, and barrel match. Further N^Z mark appears to left side of cylinder pin housing. Left side of topstrap marked '18/{Crown}/GR/{crossed scepters}/P firing proof mark followed by {Broad Arrow} property mark and {Crown}/4M/B and {Crown}/U6/E inspection stamps. Weak firing proofs applied between each chamber. {Broad Arrow} government property mark visible on most components. Backstrap displays New Zealand arsenal marks N^Z/{Broad Arrow}/1/40/1771. Lanyard loop mounted to butt. Revolver lacks pin for star extractor. WARNING: Common .45 ACP loads exceed pressure ratings for Webley chambers. Condition: Good. Bore is frosty with some scratches throughout and patina forming. Metal finish presents a brown patina overall with some traces of blue left along frame flanks and to recesses. Item shows some mars and dings along edges along with wear to screw heads from removal and installation. Some oxidized spots within triggerguard and along flats of barrel. Some additional spots of oxidation scattered overall. Grip panels scratched with some skips to checkering and residue in recesses. Grip panels fit snugly along butt but leave a gap at upper frame. Action indexes correctly with loose lockup. Frame lock shows some wiggle.
