Publisher's original pictorial grey cloth, sides blocked in gilt, upper side also blocked in red, spine gilt-lettered (joints starting, extremities rubbed, spine-ends chipped, soiling, front endpaper torn without loss). Provenance : 'Printed in Russia' (title stamp) -- Paul M. Fekula.

Dammuller after V. Vasnetsov, I. Sokolov, N. Sokolov, and I Panov. Fekula 5018 (this copy). ILLIUSTROV, I.N. Sbornik Rossiiskikh Poslovits i Pogovorok . [Collected Russian Sayings and Proverbs]. Kiev: S.V. Kul'zhenko, 1904. 8° (255 x 175mm). (Light marginal browning.) Contemporary red cloth, red morocco label on spine, marbled endpapers, edges red (hinges split, text-block nearly detached).
