Two Cobalt Blue Decorated Stoneware Crocks, America, 19th century, the first manufactured by Nathan Clark, Jr., Athens, New York, (1843-1892), a three-gallon, wide-mouth crock tapering to base, with applied lug handles and decorated with a freehand painted cobalt blue flower blossom, Albany slip-glazed interior, round impressed maker's mark; together with a four-gallon straight-sided crock with applied lug handles made by Noah White and Son, Utica, New York, (1840-1853), decorated on the front with a cobalt blue painted bird on branch, Albany slip-glazed interior, impressed maker's mark, (imperfections), ht. 9 1/2, 10 7/8 in.
